How to Get Rid of Smelly Breath. (The Easy Way.)

Number One: Smoking.

I think I can safely say that everyone on planet earth, knows that smoking is unhealthy, in fact it’s a very unhealthy habit, everyone knows about the well documented risk of cancer, smoking also damages the lungs, restricts the cardio vascular circulation, it has a very negative effect on the heart, smoking also effects the brain, even erectile function, reproduction and fertility and the list goes on.

So, I think I would probably be wasting my time trying to lecture people on the dangers of smoking, it’s already been well and truly covered, many times before and to be honest, I don’t think it’s my job to tell people what is best for them, I can offer advice, but only if people want it.

The subject of this particular post is the effect smoking has on the breath and of course, the unattractive, stained teeth. Bad breath, also known as halitosis, can be embarrassing and cause us to be self conscious, which could in turn lead to stress and even anxiety, so it is probably a good idea to get something done about it.

Can I do my bad breath ?

Stop The Bad Breath.

There are of course quite a few things that can be done to help fight bad breath, stop smoking is probably the first one that comes to mind, however, you can also change your diet, eat less spicy food, onions and garlic, in fact, you might want to cut down on the garlic as much as possible, dentists advice you to brush your teeth and floss, but I think most of us do that already, you can brush and scrape your tongue every day too, I’m not so sure if most of us do that every day, but I suppose it’s worth a try.

Personally, I don’t really think people can be expected to completely change their lifestyle or daily habits as easy as that, after all, if you did change your diet, the chances are your new diet will bring with it some other problems. You can of course suck mints or chew minted gum as a temporary measure, personally, I would always carry with me a small bottle of mouth wash, there are some long lasting very fresh smelling mouth washes and they’re not expensive either, UltraDex oral rinse eliminates bad breath instantly and one rinse lasts for 12 hours.

Number Three: Stained and Discolored Teeth.

Most people, me included, brush our teeth twice a day and think, that’s it, my teeth are nice and clean now, so we carry on with our daily lives and that’s okay, well, they do look clean and actually they are, but what we don’t notice are the stains that gradually build up on our teeth and I apologize to all the smokers who are reading this, but I’m afraid it’s there at number one again, smoking is the main tooth stain culprit, but it isn’t the only one.

Tea and Coffee also stain our teeth, there are many different varieties of tea, all of which stain our teeth, some more than others, of course, some people prefer coffee, but coffee also stains our teeth, so what do we do, we can’t be expected to stop drinking our morning cup of tea or coffee can we ? Don’t worry, there is a cheap and effective way of keeping our teeth sparkling white with a professional teeth whitening system.

Wishing you all a Healthy, Wealthy and Happy Future.

  1. Hi Russ, I recently started to pay more attention to the color of my teeth and my oral health in general. I don’t smoke, but with the drinking of tea and coffee and eating certain foods, my teeth could really do with a cleaning and whitening. I am glad there is this system I will check it out. Thank you

    • I’m pleased you found my post useful JJ, I don’t smoke either but you are correct, it’s not just smoking that can discolor or stain the teeth, there can be many other causes, I haven’t tried the teeth whitening system personally but I have a friend who uses it and she really likes it, thank you for your comment, take care.

  2. Good Day, Russ, and thanks for bringing this necessary reminder to all concerned.

Unfortunately, for most of us, the culprits are usually completely unaware of their crime. The negative effects of smoking have been well documented and little can be done to assist these afflicted individuals.

Foods also contribute to halitosis, but I prefer garlic to cigarette smoke, anyday. Besides vampires bring a whole new dimension into the mix.

Simple brushing and flossing are activities that need to be ingrained in the DNA of every man, women, and child. Your efforts towards this goal are well appreciated.

    • Thank you for your comment Paul, yes you are of course quite right, people with bad breath are completely unaware of it themselves, it can be quite an awkward subject to talk about so it’s probably best to offer them a mint and hope they take the hint, and yes again, flossing and brushing are very good habits to get into, thank you once more for your comment, take care.
